Part 20 : Vientiane Apartment
After a bit more then a week and hearing that the girls Nina and Sissel were going to be in 4000 islands I decided that it was time and that I was a little bit over Vinetiane. I managed to buy my self a copy of "Journey to the west" which is about the monkey king and the voyage of a Buddhist monk to retrieve the original Buddhist scriptures from India and to return them to China.
Anyhow I decided to go out on friday night and wasn't looking for a real big night but while I was eating my fish and chips with beerlao @ sticky fingers I was invited to join a group of westerns that had already begun a big night of drinking. I soon found out that those westerners were all volunteer people. OMFG I had found them, the long lost volunteers of Vientiane. Most of them I found all worked in the same place a renewable energy company and were doing internships for their university degrees! unbelievable. renewable energy. It sounded like they were doing the job I wanted to do. Oh well.
My dilemma was that I had already decided to meet the girls down south and had booked tickets and started wrapping things up with work and accommodation and the like. Unbelievable, that the same day I decide to leave I finally find the other volunteers.
I had a good time with those guys that night heading to a new bar just around the corner from my house that was not only full of locals and westerners but also stayed open much later then the standard 11:30. They also had a fooseball table :) but there was one guy who just keep smashing me. apparently he played there every night. Then we headed out to Don Chan Palace again. :(
